An Overview:
The Opportunity School is a non-profit community-based service institution for the mentally challenged children, in service for more than 50 years in Chennai, India. The school provides learning opportunities and training experiences for the age group of 3 to 20years both in academic, daily living activities and vocational training through integration. An individualized programme plan is meticulously formulated to inculcate social behavior and put them into use in everyday living context.
Main Purpose:
To serve Mild, Moderate and Severely challenged children with special needs such as Down syndrome, Micro Cephalus, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and ADHD.
Our Programs:
Our programs are early intervention, Physio/occupational therapy, play therapy, Special Education (Pre-primary, Primary, Elementary, Secondary, Pre vocational) and Vocational training for both girls and boys.

To train the exceptional children towards acquiring necessary skills for their self-help, independent living and leading future life as a less dependent member of the society.
To develop necessary social and emotional literacy to live and participate in the community as much as possible.
To provide Individualised learning experiences in tune with their learning abilities and to their individualities in order to attain maximum potential.
